These are the Top 10 Disney World Magic Kingdom Snacks
Popcorn and potato chips move over…you have NOTHING on the snacks that Walt Disney World provides its guests. There’s something that seriously comes over my appetite the minute I set foot into Disney World Magic Kingdom. I get hungry. I get daring for unusual flavours, I get hangry if I don’t eat one of everything, and admit to leaving my diet at the entrance. But what snacks in the complex are worthy of ditching the diet? Here is our no-fail diet cheat-worthy Magic Kingdom Snacks Guide.
Mickey’s Kitchen Sink
So this is more than a snack. This is an ultimate indulgence. A dieter’s nightmare, but a Disney guest’s dream come true after walking over 10,000 steps a day. Mickey’s Kitchen Sink, served at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlour on Main Street USA, brings 4 scoops of ice cream in selected flavours, choice of topping – chocolate fudge, caramel, strawberry sauce, or peanut butter, and completed with whipped cream and cherries. It is served in a souvenir kitchen sink bowl and honestly could feed two. It seriously belongs on everyone’s Disney bucket list to try at least once. Keep in mind that this treat does NOT count as a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan Snacks allowance. It is the one thing on the Plaza’s menu that does not qualify due to its size and the souvenir bowl. But honestly my friends, this is one of those Magic Kingdom Snacks that is worth every cent and every calorie.
Cheshire Cat Tails
Head on over to Mad Hatter’s Tea Party in Fantasyland to enjoy an exclusive Cheshire cat tail served at the Cheshire Cafe. These moist and delicious tails that taste similar to chocolate croissants are the perfect treat with a morning coffee. And the coffee served here is simply the perfect accompaniment. They each (both the coffees and the cheshire cat tails) cost one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plans Snacks allowance and honestly are as addictive as Disney itself.
Country Bears Jamboree Moonshine
Right in the heart of Frontierland, head to the stall just outside the Country Bears Jamboree show and nab the collectible Country Bears Jamboree Moonshine Jug! Fill it with your favourite soft drink and enjoy it during your day. Note that this does not count as a snack credit on your Disney Dining plan snacks allowance, but it is worth every penny!
Cinnamon Bun & LeFou’s Brew – Gaston’s Tavern
Time for a delicious indulgence! Have you ever walked past a Cinnabon stall in a mall or subway station? The smell of the cinnamon just follows you in hopes of tempting you into a decadent treat. Well, Gaston’s Tavern has a cinnamon rolled dripping with gooey icing to entice those who love these indulgent treats. Wash one down with the exclusive Lefou’s brew – a frothy sweet drink served either in a fun souvenir cup or without. Both count as snack credits on your Disney Dining Plan Snacks allowance (Lefou’s brew ONLY if not purchased with a souvenir cup) and worth every penny. Would you share your cinnamon bun?
Chocolate or Caramel Covered Apple – Big Top Souvenirs
Right inside one of the coolest souvenir shops in the entire Disney World Magic Kingdom complex, is the Big Top Souvenirs store. Not only does it have a great selection of pins, but it also has a bakery right in the middle of the circus tent. Here at this bakery, you will find some amazing and decadent covered apples, Mickey cookies, Mickey marshmallow sticks and many other sweet and tantalizing treats. We decided to enjoy a caramel covered apple. Some of them are NOT eligible for snack credits, but most of the items here can be used with Disney Dining Plan snacks credits. I highly recommend one of these guys. It will take a few minutes to eat, but worth all the time in the world to savour the sweet with the more tangy Granny Smith apple beneath.
Citrus Ice Cream – Sunshine Tree Terrace
As much as I love Dole Whip, the alternative is the very close comparison – the Sunshine Tree Terrace. Enjoy a similar citrus ice cream delight that honestly takes Dole Whip for a ride in flavour. We enjoyed these, especially the larger ones that were afloat in orange pop. Only one snack credit required for such a delicious snack that was so satisfying – especially on a hot day!
Mickey Ice Cream Bars
A simple, yet satisfying treat, the Mickey shaped ice cream bars are the perfect snack between rides and shows. You can grab one of these at various stalls in all the parks. Yum! I personally love the novelty of a Mickey shaped ice cream bar – so magical.
So the one pictured here was bought in Epcot; however, you can grab these salty satisfying treats in all the parks at various food stalls. They are large and taste great with cheese sauce! Each costs one snack credit on all Disney Meal plans.
Strawberry Cupcake & Latte – Starbucks
Disney World has not escaped the popularity of Starbucks! And of course, with all things Disney, they have added their magical spin to their coffee shops in the parks. Grab a yummy barista-crafted beverage in the special Disney Starbucks cups and couple it with a delicious and moist strawberry cupcake. As it was my birthday when at the parks, the wonderful staff at the Starbucks on Main Street USA gifted me with my cupcake, but even if purchased, it was one of the BEST cupcakes I’ve ever eaten and definitely worth paying for!
Dole Whip at Disney World Magic Kingdom
No Magic Kingdom snacks list would be complete without mentioning the infamous Dole Whip served at Aloha Isle in Adventureland. The lines get huge here for a taste of the pineapple soft serve and guests absolutely love it. I do love the soft serve, but not the wait times that are monitored by cast members. If you get there early, you may miss the large waits.
So there you have my top 10 Magic Kingdom snacks to eat and enjoy when at the park. Which would you choose? Personally, if you could only have one, I’d indulge in Mickey’s Kitchen Sink. Without question.
