This is Why Dining with Lilo and Stitch is the Best – our Disney Ohana Breakfast Review
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. It is especially important when on holiday as you are more likely to explore, be more active, and use more energy. This is especially important at Walt Disney World with all the experiences and attractions to enjoy. The last time we were at Walt Disney World we wanted to enjoy a character dining experience with characters you cannot meet at the parks. So we headed to the Polynesian resort. Here is our Ohana breakfast review stating why we loved this restaurant and our recommendations for your ultimate dining experience.
Our Ohana Breakfast Review in Detail
Ohana is located at the upscale Polynesian Resort in the Walt Disney World complex. One of the more luxurious of the resorts on Disney property, the Polynesian makes guests truly feel as if they are in the South Pacific. I honestly thought at times I was in Tahiti or just a few miles away from Moana’s island. Ohana is located right inside the resort conveniently on the upper floor.
Make sure you make reservations. They are absolutely essential. Walk ins are rarely accommodated. We were lucky to nab an early morning breakfast slot and so glad we did.
Upon signing in with reception, they will hand you welcome bread and escort you to your table. The welcome bread was amazing – it was freshly baked, contained pineapple pieces, and an icing topping. If you love it, you can always request additional helpings!
The Breakfast Meals
The first course of your breakfast at Ohana, and one part of our Ohana breakfast review that we give 5* is the fruit plate. It is sometimes hard to find healthy options at Walt Disney World so to start a breakfast (other than the welcome bread) with ripe fresh fruit is a wonderful surprise.
At Ohana, meals are served as a sharing plate in the middle with all the breakfast fixings as eggs, bacon, sausage, Mickey Mouse shaped waffles, pancakes, biscuits, and more. Juice and coffee are included as well in the overall price. On top of that it is an “all you care to enjoy” (the new PC term for all you can eat) environment so if you wish a second helping of any of the offerings, your server will be happy to replenish your sharing plate.
Character Dining at Ohana Disney’s Polynesian Resort
Character dining is definitely the highlight of Ohana. Here, you get the opportunity to meet Lilo and Stitch, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto after your meal. What makes this special is that this is the only place in the Disney complex where you can meet Lilo and Stitch. They don’t appear at the parks. During your meal they will come to your table for autographs and photos! You will also get the chance to meet Mickey in his Polynesian outfit and enjoy photos with him too.
The Ohana Character Parade
During the breakfast be sure to watch the parade and if feeling enchanted, join in the fun behind the characters! It is so much fun to be a kid again 🙂
The Polynesian Resort
While here, why not explore the Polynesian Resort? Upon arrival, the cast members make you feel right at home and give you a floral lei. This makes you feel like you’re in the tropics. The resort’s decor is true to theme, with waterfalls, palm trees, and Polynesian artwork.
Pluto Meet and Greet
After a wonderful and filling breakfast, with each meal receipt, you get the exclusive opportunity to meet Pluto in the lobby! Show them your ticket and you will get photos and autographs with Mickey’s favourite canine sidekick.
Ohana is a great place to enjoy a celebratory breakfast with the characters! Here, you will receive a card signed by Lilo and Stitch, Mickey Mouse, and Pluto, and some delicious cupcakes to start your day. For more birthday perks at the Disney Parks, check out our round up here.
So there you have our Ohana breakfast review giving it a 5-star rating. We loved this restaurant! Make sure you make reservations ahead of time and be hungry for the all you care to enjoy spread. As well, it is important to note that Lilo and Stitch, Mickey, and Pluto do NOT appear at any other meal of the day at the Polynesian Resort. So if you wish to enjoy the character dining experience, you MUST book breakfast.
