Breweries are such fun to tour. The way beer, lager, and ales are made is really a fascinating process. When abroad, I love to visit local wineries and breweries to get a feel for the local flavour and the favourites enjoyed in town. Dublin is no different. Although Guinness is served worldwide, visiting the Guinness Storehouse while on a Dublin day trip or as part of any itinerary is definitely a must.

Kassie of The Fly Away Life also felt this way. Here is her review on one of the most famous brewery tours in the world.

Guinness Storehouse on your Dublin Day Trip

One of my favorite things to do in each new country is to try the local beer. So when I planned my trip to Ireland, I knew that I wanted to see where one of the world’s most famous beer, Guinness, was brewed. Located in Dublin, The Guinness Storehouse is one of the countries most visited attractions— and for a good reason! The Guinness Experience is so much more than just a brewery tour. The team at Guinness put together an immersive experience that really gives you insight into the making of Guinness and the history behind the brand. Truly a must on your Dublin day trip.

The Storehouse is a seven-floor interactive experience– each floor teaches you something new about the Guinness company or the beer-making process. The beginning of the tour takes you through the beer making process from picking the best barley to taste testing each batch. Next, you learn a bit more about how Guinness got started and the history behind Ireland’s favorite beer.

The Storehouse does a really good job of keeping even those who hate beer interested by immersing them in the experience. One of my favorite parts of the tour was the sensory exhibit, where a representative teaches you to taste and smell the various ingredients in Guinness. The whole experience is topped off with a visit to the Gravity Bar, where you can try pouring a pint of the black stuff to see how you do, with an amazing view of Dublin. Truly a highlight you will never forget on your Dublin day trip.
